2. Bulletin BoardPlease check this place regularly for e-mails.The first Webwork assignment will go online on Wednesday evening, 9/1, at 11:59 PM. WEBWORK can be found on the math department page (www.math.wustl.edu). The first time you sign on, use your 6 digit student ID number as your username and password. After you enter Webwork, you may change your password, if you so desire. Each time you enter a solution, Webwork will tell you if it is right or wrong. If it is wrong you can try working the problem again, any number of times. You will be graded on what appears on your Webwork at 11:59 PM, Sunday, 9/12. After that, no changes can be made. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Webwork Notation : 1) log represents the natural logarithm. 2) sqrt(x) is the square root of x. 2) x*y represents the product, x times y. 3) x**n means x raised to the power n. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As it appears on the syllabus, there is no class this Friday, 9/10. Also, there will be no office hour tomorrow, Thursday. To make up for that, I will have an office hour on Sunday, 9/12, 10:30 - 11:30 AM. It will be in my office, Cupples I, room 107B. The east side door of the building will be open. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Review session for exam 1, on Monday, 9/20, 5-6 PM in Rebstock 215. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Solutions to practice exam 1 can now be found online, in the same place as the practice exam. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some parts of the practice exam were amended, before it was put online. It seems that an earlier, non-amended version, got put into the system, which explains why some students pointed out that they couldn't find a correct answer in some of the problems. The solution practice exam is as it should be, so look there to get the correct version. Sorry about that, I will try to be more careful next time. |
