Transportation
  • Instructions on driving to campus:
    • driving direction detail: Directions to the Washington University Campus
    • math building map: A map of the campus with location of the math building, Cupples I: Click on Section 1 for more detail and location of parking. Obtain parking permits at the registration desk in the math lounge, room 200 Cupples I. Park at a meter until you get the permits.
    • Map to residence hall: Click on section 3 of the map (South 40 and West Campus). Conference participants and speakers will be housed in Ethan A. H. Shepley Residence House (number 80 on the legend). Register in Arnold J. Lien Residence Hall (number 46 on the legend). There is a parking garage next to Lien Hall. Get parking permits at the math department. It is a 15 minute walk from the residence hall to the math department.
  • Instructions on getting from the airport to campus:
    • Take a taxi to Brookings Hall on Hilltop Campus. Fare will be about $25. If you arrive early enough to check into your room before the conference starts, take a taxi to Lien Hall on the South 40 (location of the residence halls). Register there, leave your luggage in your room, and walk to the math department (about 15 minutes). See math building map.
    • Take Metrolink ($1.25) to Forest Park stop and take university shuttle bus from there to Brookings Hall (free, runs every 15 minutes). The sign on the shuttle bus will say Gold Line. Ask the driver if the bus is headed for the Hilltop campus (what you want) or the Medical School campus (wrong direction). Tell the driver you want off at Brookings Hall.

Sports
Baseball fans: the St. Louis Cardinals will be in town the week before and after the MGC. Go to their web site at http://www.stlcardinals.com for schedule and ticket information.


Opera
The St. Louis Opera Theater will be performing at the time of the conference. If you are interested in attending a performance or two of this nationally acclaimed opera company, investigate their web site Opera Theatre of Saint Louis for ticket information and performance schedule.

  • Friday, May 30, 8 pm: Pucini's "Tosca".
  • Saturday, May 31 is the Conference Banquet.
  • Sunday, June 1, 7 pm: Dove's "Flight" (American premiere).
