Project NExT and the Young Mathematician's Network invite submissions of abstracts for a poster session to be held on Wednesday January 9th, 2013 from 2:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. in Exhibit Hall B2 of the San Diego Convention Center at the Joint Mathematics Meetings in San Diego.
Project NExT and the Young Mathematician's Network seek to provide an open venue for people who are near completion, or have finished their graduate studies in the last 5 years to present their work and make connections with other same-stage professionals. Poster sessions highlight the research activities, both mathematical and pedagogical, of recent or future Ph.D.'s in mathematics and related fields. Visitors to the poster sessions are numerous and include many prospective employers.
To participate, submit your abstract and information via e-mail (no attachment, please) to Professor Mike Axtell from the University of St. Thomas, maxtell@stthomas.edu and Professor Kim Roth from Juniata College, roth@juniata.edu. If your abstract includes mathematical formulas, submit it in basic LaTeX or TeX format. Poster size are 48" by 36"; 36" high is preferred. About forty posters from different areas within the mathematical sciences will be accepted. Posters and materials for posting will be provided on-site. Should you have a special requirement involving a computer hook-up, please let the organizers know. Submissions will be acknowledged quickly by e-mail.
The deadline for final consideration is December 15, 2012. Preference will be given to those who earned a Ph.D. since 2007. Be sure to include with your submission when and where you received your Ph.D. (or expect to receive it) along with your current affiliation and coordinates. Accepted abstracts will be posted at http://www.youngmath.net/Documents/2013/Posters/, before the Joint Meetings.
