Pictures from the hike on Sunday, 8/8/04

On Sunday, 16 of us ventured into the Willamette and Deschutes National Forests,
for a roughly 8 mile hike with great views of the surrounding lava fields, the
Three Sisters, and other prominent Cascade volcanoes. I didn't realize how many
volcanoes existed in the continental US, nor did I realize what the aftermath of a large eruption would look like.
I believe that the lava we saw was roughly 1000 years old.

For some quick highlights, check out the links marked with (**).
