Gary R. Jensen's Teaching Interests

I am now retired from teaching. In recent years I have been trying to develop ideas in the three following areas:

• Use of MATLAB in Calculus courses.
  For this I have written the text book "Using MATLAB in Calculus", Prentice Hall, Upper Saddle River, NJ, 2000.
  It is available for purchase at Amazon.com, for example. ISBN 0-13-027268-X.

• Mathematics education for prospective elementary school teachers.
  The text book "Arithmetic for Teachers, with Applications and Topics from Geometry", American Mathematical Society, fall 2003, is available for purchase from the AMS Bookstore.
  I plan to revise many parts of this book and post these on its web site.

• Surfaces in space studied by the method of moving frames. There is a preliminary draft of an intended book, not yet ready for distribution.
