Homework:

A few relevant problems will be assigned every class, to be handed in at the following problem session. The Homework-page contains a list of all the homework given.

Problem sessions:

Starting on September 5, every 2nd Friday will be dedicated to a problem session. At these sessions you will be given some problems to do in class, we will discuss problems from the last homework, and you may get selected to present a prepared solution of a problem.

Exams:

There will be two in-class exams during the semester, on Monday October 6th, and Monday November 17th. The final exam will be 10:30 - 12:30 PM on Thurday December 18th.

Project:

If you want, you can do a project instead of the second in-class exam. For the project you should choose a topic you want to study (suggestions will be available) somehow related to the course. Then you will be asked to write a short (no more than 5 pages) report, and give a short (no more than 10 minutes) presentation on your chosen topic.

Grading:

Your grade will be based on your homework and effort in class (40% = 30% + 10%) and exams (60% = 15% + 15% + 30%).
