| Students who add the course after the first 2 days of class should send an e-mail mentioning this fact to Professor Jack Shapiro so that your late entry can be noted. (Not doing this could accidentally cause your final score at the end of the course to be miscalculated in the "bad" direction.) |
Text Calculus: Concepts and Contexts, James Stewart, Chapters 2-5
Prerequisites It's essential that your precalculus be in good working order. If you are having difficulty in these areas, you might find the book Just in Time: Algebra and Trigonometry for Students of Calculus helpful. (It should be available in the bookstore as an "optional" text. Most of you should NOT need to buy it!) If there seem to be significant problems, it might be good to think about switching into Math 100, Foundations for Calculus.
