Description |
This is an introductory statistics
course. The topics include descriptive statistics and graphics, elementary
probability theory, hypothesis testing, linear regression and analysis of
variance (ANOVA). |

Computing |
Real statistical analysis is practical only in the context of computer
statistical packages. Since it is
infeasible to allow 200 computers in the examination room, there is no way to
test you on your ability to compute. However, since the software in the TI-83 and its cousins closely follows
the style of computer packages, you will learn the basics of statistical
computation as you do the homework and the examination problems. The |
