General information. The textbook for the course is Schaum's Outlines: Calculus (fifth edition) by Ayres and Mendelson. The plan for the semester is given in the course syllabus.

In every class period I will distribute a short daily assignment. These assignments are not graded, but you must complete 90% of them. This means you can only miss four of them. After that point your final course grade will go down by 5% for each additional missed daily assignment. The current daily assignment can be downloaded here. It is due at the beginning of the next class period.

Your grade will be determined as follows:

Quizzes: 15%
Midterm 1: 20%
Midterm 2: 20%
Midterm 3: 20%
Final Exam: 25%

If your final exam score is higher than any of your midterm scores, then it will replace the lowest midterm score. Your three lowest quiz scores will be dropped.

Quizzes will be given at the beginning of each discussion section. The midterms will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on February 10, March 17, and April 14 (location to be announced). The final exam will take place on Thursday, May 6, from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. You may bring one 3 x 5 notecard to each exam. Calculators are not allowed on exams.
