Information for the Second Exam

The first exam will be Tuesday March 3 at 6:30 PM. The room assignments will be the same as for the 1^st exam, the seat assignments will be different. They will be available on Tuesday here.

You should bring your calculator to the exam and you may bring a 3" X 5" index card with notes; hand written only, you may write on both sides. 

The exam will cover the material in Parts II, III and IV in the book; Chapters 7—17.

Links to Exams in this course in previous semesters are available at http://www.math.wustl.edu/~oldexams/. The same text was used but the scheduling of the exams was not a perfect match with ours and the styles of the instructors who wrote those exams are noticeably different from mine.

The exam will be a mix of computational questions, multiple choice short answer questions, and true-false questions. Those last two categories will be a substantial fraction of the exam because a substantial fraction of the material covered was more conceptual than computational.
