This is the program TWOSAMP_USING_STATLIB written by XXXXX.
We want to test the hypothesis  H_0:mu_X=mu_Y  using data from
  the two samples:

    X (m=6):  9.19  9.54  8.65  7.31  8.47  9.78
    Y (n=9):  8.73  8.17  6.4  6.31  7.09  7.99  5.89  6.38  8.24

The sample means and sample standard deviations are:

    X:  (m=6)   Xbar=8.82   s_X=0.90
    Y:  (n=9)   Ybar=7.24   s_Y=1.05

The pooled estimate of the assumed common theoretical
  standard deviation is:  s_P=0.99

The two-sample t-statistic for H_0 is:

    T=3.02    deg.free. = 6 + 9 - 2 = 13

A function in statlib.c for Student-t P-values tells us that

    P = Prob(|t(13)| >= 3.01778) = 0.00989475  (two-sided)

so that we reject H_0 and conclude mu_X != mu_Y.
