Elinor Anheuser Professor of Mathematics Guido Weiss just returned from a keynote address at the International Society for Optics and Photonics, SPIE Organic Photonics + Electronic conference held in San Diego from August 25 to 29, 2013. In his presentation, Professor Weiss discussed subjects from a paper cowritten with our department's Chauvenet Postdoctoral Lecturer Peter Luthy and Professor Edward Wilson. The paper, Interplay in various settings between shift invariant spaces, wavelets, and sampling, will be published in the conference proceedings. View the preprint⇨

SPIE Organic Photonics + Electronics is a international congress for the discussion of topics regarding organic materials that have huge potentialities for delivering renewable energy sources and also play a significant role in current commercial and private designs: optical processes in organic materials and nanostructures, liquid crystals, organic light emitting materials and devices, organic photovoltaics, organic field-effect transistors, and organic semiconductors in sensors and bioelectronics. Individual researchers and expert professionals will give presentations and lead workshops having to do with the research and development of OLEDs, OTFTs, OPVs, liquid crystals, and also large scale fabrication thereof, organic semiconductors, etc .
