GEOMETRY I

The textbook is: An Introduction to Differentiable Manifolds and Riemannian Geometry, by William M. Boothby (Academic Press).

Topics. The course will include: an overview of calculus of functions of several variables; differentiable manifolds and submanifolds; vector fields and tensors; elements of Riemannian manifolds; differential forms and integration on manifolds.

Homeworks and exams: There will be (roughly) weekly homework sets, worth 30% of the final grade, one midterm exam, worth 30%, and a final exam, worth 40%. The dates are as follows:
