  • Problems in text are from
    Elementary Linear Algebra, 8th edition
Bernard Kolman and David R Hill  -  ISBN 0-13-045787-6

  • Schedule
Below is an approximate schedule for the Semester. The sections in the book covered on a particular day are in the second column of the table below. Sections covered may be spread over more than one day. We will try to follow this schedule, but covering important topics in enough detail will take precedence. You will be responsible for the topics in these sections, even if particular items were not covered in class. In addition to the assigned homework problems, do as many problems from the book as possible unless they are clearly repetitious. This will be a good indicator of whether you have understood the class material.

  • Homework
The grader is Carolyn Auchter. You can send her an email with any concerns about homework grading.
The answers to many odd-numbered problems are in the back of the book. You can take these as hints.
Do enough intermediate steps on problems so that the grader will know that you did the problem (by hand).
Be sure to read all of the comments from the grader, even for problems on which you got full credit.

  • Exams: No calculators on exams, unless otherwise indicated explicitly. All exams will be closed book.
